Fashion Week Milan

FALL-WINTER 2010-2011

Estamos en Italia, la cuna del glamour. Here, women look like what they really are: real women. They are proud of their femininity and don't hide it. They love their hair, hips, curves, make up, dresses, waists... this exuberant attitude make designers show clothes that reflect their look and their need for what's gorgeous and wearable.
Thank God for Italian women. Enjoy this celebration of womanhood!

Bottega Venetta

Exquisite and sensual power-woman.

The german -and Miami Beach resident- Thomas Maier

Front row: Vogue Japan's Anna Dello Russo and bloggers

Paris Vogue's Carine Roitfeld and Emmanuelle Alt.

Emilio Pucci

Silks and fringes wrap bodies of lush, glam-hippie women.

Designer Peter Dundas kept the spirit of the line but made it relevant to today.

Marni

Layers of fur, pailletes, transparencies. The knee high socks are hard to pull off but they look credible here.

Consuelo Castiglioni

Prada

Miuccia Prada is probably the most respected designer in the fashion industry. Whatever she makes becomes an instant trend. This season she showed waists and busts, in looks that I think could be worn by a teenager as well as a granny. The socks look so cozy... and they really all look comfy -as in comfortable in their own skin.

The Oscars

Oscars 2010, "the year everyone looked great". Not too 'safe' -despite the nude, black and red- nothing over the top -and no-one making a statement or being funny. I think everyone really tried to look their best, and the result was fantastic. The pictures don't do them justice... it is so much better to watch these dresses move! And the winners are:

Amanda Seydried, dreamy in Armani Prive

Anna Kendrick in Elle Saab

Carey Mulligan and her Prada, one of the favorites. Classic, fresh and youthful

Carolina Herrera, as regal as ever at the after party

Demi Moore worked these ruffles and made a stunning appearance

Diane von Furstenberg, fur coat as dress. Onlooking husband looks amused

Strong persona Elisabetta Canalis in Roberto Cavalli, with George Clooney

Elizabeth Banks in a well-built Versace. She even got compliments from Tom Ford

I love Livia Giuggioli in this simple dress. I hope Colin Firth does, too...

Miley Sirus looked so pretty!

Sandra Bullock, the queen of the evening - she looked the part in her beautiful Marchesa gown

Tom Ford has fully recovered his hot-designer status. He may start making women's clothes soon

Vera Farmiga's Marchesa frock rose to the occasion

The designer Vera Wang, so cool at the Vanity Fair Oscar party

Zoe Saldana, best supporting actress for Avatar, in a Givenchy dress - she wore it well!
