Amanda Cutter Brooks Style

I am working on a post on Spring Fashion Week in New York (figuring out how to best present it to you...), and coming across pictures of Amanda Cutter Brooks, author and fashion consultant, one of my favorite women in fashion, as you may already know. Amanda Brooks was also one of the first to visit my blog, and she was sweet enough to write to me to say that she liked it (see link below, or look for it in previous posts)! Anyways, I could not resist sharing these photos. See her contemporary classic looks:

Running to the Phillip Lim show. How gorgeously perfect is this outfit?

Beautiful shoes by Reed Krakoff. Wow.

It's a baseball t-shirt! I would not have guessed. Loving the shoes...

Of-the-moment outfit at Diane Von Furstenberg

An unexpected combination at the front row

I love it when she does bohemian - suits her well. At the Chanel Soho party

What did you think of the pictures? Do you like her style as much as I do?

Que opinan? Les gusta su estilo tanto como a mi?

Really Cool Real Fashion

Famous blogger Scott Schulman of The Sartorialist (also a book), hits the streets of Milan, Paris and New York on a mission: to photograph real fashion, worn by super cool people on the streets. I saw this first picture below and liked it so much, I wanted to share it with you. I chose the best of his most recent photos, including denim looks, best dressed men, and cool bicycles!

Fashion consultant Amanda Cutter Brooks (Celine bag, Chanel shoes) and J.Crew's president Jenna Lyons (in J.Crew, Louboutin shoes, Chanel bag) walk to a show during New York Fashion Week, happening now.  I LOVE this look: Jean on jean, red lips + Louboutin stilettos = perfecto !

Desperately looking for jeans like the above. I am sure hers are vintage. Isn't anyone making high-waisted, wide legged pants like these? I also like the red clutch, very much

She looks so pretty! Each item is so different - fuchsia shoes, black bag, silk pants, argyle scarf, jean jacket... Well put together, girl!

The great Anne Dello Russo, Italian Director of Vogue Japan

Working those legs

And now, the men... such elegance makes you more handsome!

Can you picture these pants on your man? Tres difficile

La famiglia, very dandy

The shirt, the scarf.... it's all in the details

Two generations of Elegance

Belted cardigans for men: like

Mission Impossible

wow... the perfect white shirt, sleeves carefully rolled up

Like father, like sons

I hope you enjoyed these pictures and found them as inspiring as I did! Tell me what you think... I love to hear your comments! Thanks so much for following my blog!!!!!

Espero que se hayan inspirado tanto como yo. Cuentenme que les parece, me encanta oir sus comentarios! Muchisimas gracias por seguir mi blog!!!!

Style Icon: Giovanna Battaglia. Glamourize me!

Giovanna Battaglia, an Italian fashion writer who lives between Milan, Paris and NY, distills glamour like no one else. She 'writes up' her own style by including rich and unexpected mixes of textures, proportions, touches of color, in a relaxed yet impeccable manner. She is at the top of my Best Dressed list. This is how this extremely modern lady does it:

Miami Lifestyle: A Fun Summer It Has Been!

I have been gone for weeks so I have not been blogging.

Here's part of what I have been up to.

Key Biscayne Fourth of July Parade

My children and nephews, all red, white and blue
PHOTOS BY LUCRECIA DIAZ

The traditional Key Biscayne 4th of July Parade committee asked us to parade down in our golf cart, representing Argentina in the 2010 World Cup. After the devastating loss to Germany, the boys did not feel like celebrating much, but we defied our low spirits and the fierce Miami heat, gave out candy to the kids in the crowd, and felt proud when people took pictures of us with the Messi soccer t-shirts hanging from the front.

All set to watch the 2010 World Cup soccer game: Jimena Teijeiro, Adriana Von Simson and I

Baires Grill on Lincoln Road

My aunt, sister, Daniela Urzi and Shakara Ledard enjoy fun night out in South Beach

My family got together at Baires Grill for great conversation and great food. As it happens, international top model Daniela Urzi's husband is the owner of this great restaurant on Lincoln Road in South Beach. She is good friends with my cousin's friend, Shakara Ledard (also a model, who is featured in the latest issues of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar). Yummy desserts were compliments of Daniela, who is very gracious; and really pretty.

Young, Fabulous, and Cubana

Super-tanned Caro Murciano and Jimena Teijeiro. Ready to party!

I had the privilege of visiting Calle Ocho, the quintessential Miami street of Little Havana with my native friend Caro Murciano, who invited us to her 'dives'. It's the most effective way of pretending to be a local, no?
We met at Caro's. Imagine a whitewashed fairytale waterfront house in Key Biscayne on one of the hottest nights of the year, a midsummer night's dream of a place. Dreamily gorgeous was she, with a BB up do, wearing a sexy silk camisole, Stella Mc Cartney-ish shorts via Urban Outfitters, a striped Jean Paul Gaultier for Target torero and tan Fendi shoes. ("I love Fendi. It's understated", she says. Got to love her for that!). She removed her Chanel quilted bag from the original black box (so jealous!), took a last sip of pink champagne - my favorite - and we were off.
First up was Mr. Yum's... delishious sushi. Next, to Kimbara Cumbara, a 'hole in the wall', where we heard the band "Palo!" playing "La Havana Buena"with such heart. We left for Hoy Como Ayer to hear more excellent live music. The lyrics were so nostalgic of Cuba, I admit I had to fight back some tears (yes, I could relate). The band was supported by the fearless duo of Caro and Nelson Duque, the perfect backup dancers! They were congratulated by the lead singer - and everyone else. I liked that people were there to have a genuinely good time and dance the night away.
It's nice to know there is a corner of Miami that feels authentic, where egos are left at the door, where even the most stressed out can switch off.

A roar of respect to the legendary Calle Ocho (and to the nostalgia of home)!
