Valentines: Giovanna Battaglia and boyfriend Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld

Cute valentines Giovanna Battaglia, editor of Vogue L'Uomo (and the most elegantly dressed ever), and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld, art gallerist based in New York (and son of Carine Roitfeld, Vogue Paris's Editor-in-Chief, who just shocked the fashion world by quitting her coveted job), are a beautiful and photogenic couple who seem genuinely happy in each other's company. What do you think?

Bambi visit!!

In Paris last October, I was happily surprised to see Bambi inspired clothes at J C de Castelbajac (as I have mentioned in a previous post). I love Bambi, innocent, sweet, with equally adorable friends, appreciative of nature, the forest, the harmonious change of seasons. I was literally ecstatic this Christmas ski trip when two deer visited us at our house in the woods, at Beech Mountain

Here they come!

Coming closer...

and closer...

Hey there, adorable!

 Yes, you!

Just like this scene in the movie!!!

Photos from the J. C. de Castelbajac collection for Winter 2010:

Would wear this out to dinner, perfect with artsy friends

I imagine wearing this to my little girl's birthday parties, with or without the headpiece, depends!

Would wear the jacket with jeans, anytime. And the shoes, anywhere, but separately

I'd love this outfit for a wedding, or any special occasion such as my birthday with family and friends

Dancing! Paired with super-high heels or booties

Wish I could have these shoes!

Stella McCartney likes Bambi, too. This is her winter ad campaign:

Happy...!! 2011

It's four weeks into the New Year and I am thrilled to start sharing fashion inspirations to keep you on trend and stylish for all 2011.

One of the best ways to mark the beginning of any new period is by adjusting our wardrobe. Making changes in our closets has to be the most efficient - mental, emotional and practical - way to get ready for what's coming - and what we want to attract - into our lives.

Without further ado, we will start looking at our closet basics, the must-haves

The pant / jean

Both the skinny jean and the wide legged pant are in style these days. Here are some examples to help you transition into a different trouser silhouette.

Celine's Five Perfect Pants collection. The brand says these pants are so well-cut and bum-flattering, that they will be available permanently at their stores. Phoebe Philo, the designer, was famous for making super-flattering pants for Chloe years ago.
