Lincoln Road: Best of Miami
The new J.Crew Collection store.
Walking on Lincoln Road is one of my favorite things to do in Miami. I love to shop, eat, and people-watch in this hot pedestrian street.
This past week I was very impressed by the new J. Crew Collection store. It's amazing! I was astonished by the decor. It's spectacular, inspired by the nearby Delano hotel, famously decorated by Phillipe Starck. Blonde oak floors and boiserie paneling, enormous framed mirrors, high ceilings, cascading white curtains. The clothes are gorgeous, displayed in a creative mix of high and lows: boyfriend jeans, embellished t-shirts with paillete blazers and gold tango heels. Rare vintage art books and framed works of art -silkscreens, engravings by renown artists - are exhibited in color-coordination with the clothes. Genius!
I wasn't looking for anything really, when I came across an item I've wanted all my life: real-ballerina flats! Authentic ballerina slippers -blush pink, the softest thin leather- with a thin sole. They are my special-precious shoes now, as is the store.
