In our farm and Buenos Aires..

Hi everyone.

Some months back my family and I made the decision to spend almost a year in Buenos Aires and in our estancia in Venado Tuerto, Santa Fé. It has been an incredible cultural experienceI am calling it my "creative sabbatical". I do miss writing in my blog and I miss sharing with you. I am waiting until I come back to Key Biscayne to get my blog up and running again. I have exciting writing plans for the near future, and I plan to reconnect with my artistic interests. In the meantime, here is a look at my present homes, all about which I will share when I arrive back in Miami at the beginning of August.

Stay tuned!

New York: Eat !

(continued)
These are some of the cool restaurants we went to during my brief stay in New York. My gourmet international friends stayed longer than I did, so they went to more.

 Eat.

The Standard Grill - Meatpacking District

Hello! it's 4pm, and we are a bit hungry. Bring us the hamburguers and french-fries (recommended),
and a cobb salad, please!

The Standard Grill, where you eat well and watch the young and the hip crowds playing ping-pong in the adjacent patio

Puppy salt and pepper shakers!! Kiss!!

Salero y pimentero de perritos. Besitos!!

The floor made of pennies. Our black ballerinas

El piso, hecho de monedas

Le Pain Quotidien - ABC Carpet and Home

Magda and George had soft-boiled organic eggs with bread, dip, dip. I loved the egg holders, very british. I had the organic steel-cut oatmeal with berries pictured above. Marian had fruit. The tea and coffee came in huge cups

Sleepy face! Taken from an i-phone. This restaurant is connected to the super-exciting ABC Carpet and Home store, so we went there after. Too bad it was a Sunday, we missed the Union Square farmers market down the street.

Fonda Nolita - Nolita

While we waited for our table at Cafe Habana, we walked around Nolita. This garage is a Mexican restaurant, Fonda Nolita, complete with a decorated Volkswagen car that sells famous Tacombi Mexican tacos. A very cute spot on Elizabeth Street!

Cafe Habana - Nolita

At Cafe Habana the corn on the cob order is a must... unique and deliciousss!!

The fish tacos were not a success

No pidan los tacos de pescado

Strolling to Soho from Nolita neighborhood for dessert...

Pinkberry - Soho

Freshness! Frozen yogurt with fruit and chocolate on top... not too sweet. mmmm

Frescura!

Clinton St. Baking Company - Lower East Side

The long wait for a table turned our breakfast into brunch. With George, we shared pancakes with blueberries and eggs benedict on bread. The milkshake lived up to its fame, it was chocolate for me!

Pastis - Meatpacking District

Best dressed restaurant: I thought this girl looked lovely with her tutu skirt and matching cashmere sweater

Pastis is where the well-dressed meet. The scene at the bar from our table.

We agreed that the food at Pastis was surprisingly terrible, as the cocktails. This couple probably thinks so too... sitting across from us, the man reminded me of a Transylvanian count, count Dracula, hair parted in the middle and gelled to the sides, stiff buttoned up shirt, expensive sweater, intriguing demeanor, impeccable manners. Anyways....

 Mercer Kitchen - Soho

Mercer Kitchen is the best!!! It was hard to get a table without a reservation but worth the effort! I forgot to take my camera; everything looked amazing as always. We ordered pasta with a mushroom sauce and a pizza, and a mozzarella burrata to start. We had the best time. I love it here!!

Me encanta Mercer Kitchen!

Macao - Tribeca

This restaurant is also a very cool night club. Once Magda got us past the velvet rope, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who did her best to get us a table. We opted for the bar instead, went downstairs, checked out the decor - including an interesting corner with antique phallic objects and photos - and headed out to Mercer Kitchen.

Me gusto mucho
